After roasting hotdogs and s’mores over a fire, they headed to a park district gym to play basketball for three hours. (Thankfully, only a couple minor injuries were sustained.) For dinner, they picked up ribs. Then they went back to our grandparents’ home to spend the evening playing games and watching sports. (Our grandparents graciously spent the night at another family member’s house so the guys could have full run of the house.)
They planned to have cereal for breakfast, but our grandmother surprised them with eggs, bacon, and pumpkin-flavored pancakes. Everyone had a blast and agreed that it was the best bachelor party they had ever been to.

What a great party!! Mr Handsome did a really good job of giving his brother a special 24 hours that he will always remember. My husband's twin brother planned his bachelor party the group went boweling then to a friend's house to have a cookout.

That sounds fun! How long have you been married for? (I may have asked you that before…)

We have been married for 7 and a half years. He is my true love, soulmate and best friend and I know he feels the same about me.

Why do you have to describe it as clean? Not all bachelor parties are dirty, or weren't you aware? You could have simply said how to plan a bachelor party.

I think the bachelor party was great and that was the first time I'd ever heard of a clean bachelor's party. I've never heard anyone with whom I've ever associated with talk of a bachelor's party in this way. I think the headline was phrased just right!

I'm sure there have been many clean bachelor parties in the past, but most that I have heard of involve activities that are far from family-friendly.

Who ya hanging out with that ya hear such things? 😉

I don't want to be rude or offend anyone but even if weapons can be useful in some cases, how can they be family-friendly ?
Sure, there is a culture gap between our countries, but here in France, it's unusual to use weapons during a bachelor party, even in the rural areas. Anyway, hello to everyone – Anne

Here in Europe it's unusual for normal people to use guns in general.

And there have been thousands all over the world that you haven't heard about Ellie, that have also been 'clean', as you phrased it. Many people spend their whole life's only participating in clean activities.
Not everyone adheres to the stereotype of hiring unfavourable entertainment. Don't let rumours or media portrayal sour you to the real world.

Great to see other 'clean' stag and hen parties! It is so hard to find good appropriate ideas on the internet!
My husband was taken around our city by his buddies and set challenges that were supposed to 'help' him in his marriage 😛 Some of these included eating eel at a sushi restaurant and winning a game of lazer-strike!

That sounds like a blast, Imogen! hadn't heard the terms stag or hen until a couple weeks ago. What area of the world are you from?

I wonder how it must've been for you having to blog this event. Were there other women there, or was it a complete "Boy's Only" event? #RespectfulComment.

Hi James,
It only took a few moments to snap the pictures. 🙂

Oh, all right. Just wanted to know. BTW, how did you figure out it was me from Ecuador after I had changed my name?

Did you have a stag before your wedding?
My fam is Catholic, so we only drink wine, (only during special events and mass) but otherwise our stags/bachelor parties are pretty clean. If I am invited to a friend's stag where there does happen to be drinking, I won't drink. I usually act as the mother hen !

Being Catholic doesn't mean you can't drink anything other than wine. I am Catholic and I drink many different alchool beverages that I like, always in moderation and never mixing them, as I don't like to feel sick afterwards, but there's nothing wrong with it.
Anonymous
Anonymous 9/14/2016. It's against Catholic rules to drink wine. My church doesn't do wine at church anymore they give grape juice because their are alot of people who are allergic to wine.
Drink wink can be bad for your health I hear that it's causes cancer.
Anonymous
I think you heard it wrong about the wine. 😉 A moderate consumption, meaning a glass of wine every know and then, is actually good for your health.
Then, like everything, if you abuse of it, it can ruin you. But that honestly happens with chocolate as well. When I drink I make sure it's good quality wine, just as I try to do with food: quality and a general proximity to nature of what we eat or drink is always the main thing to me.
I think though that in some countries there's a lot of fear of alchool because there's a real drinking problem that messes up society: a lot of drunk people who cause problems and a lot of health related issues. In my country it's not like that: there's a culture of appreciation of quality over quantity.
As for wine being against Catholic beliefs, I'm confused: Jesus turned water into wine, as a way of showing that celebrating life is always in accordance with God's wishes…

Wine doesn't cause cancer, don't spread false information. Of course if you're addicted to it it's bad, but in moderation it isn't.

I am Roman Catholic. We certainly do drink wine during our mass service.
Red wine in particular in small amounts has been proven in studies to be beneficial to your health because of the high amounts of Polyphenals, an antioxidant that may reduce the risk of cancer. I am a dietitian. Please check the facts.

Where were you told that it's against Catholic rules to drink wine ? It's absolutely wrong. Please make serious researches before making such statements. Of course, drinking alcohol in excess can be dangerous but there's no risk if you drink in moderation.
To everyone, please read this post without the mistakes 🙂 – Anne

To the original commentor, I didn't have an official bachelorette party, but I did have three bridal showers that were a lot of fun!

Out of curiosity, to all the Catholics who drink wine during the Mass: how is it served? Do you all drink from the same goblet, or are there different cups? Here in Europe during the Catholic Mass only the priest drinks the wine, I think because it's more practical: it wouldn't be hygienic or practical to let a 100 people drink from the goblet. Occasionally, when we are just a small group of people in a less formal setting than a church, we do all take a sip of wine, but it's really exceptional.
So I was really wondering about the logistics.
Alice
Anonymous – at my church, either we dip the Communion wafer into the goblet of wine, or sometimes there is a tray of little plastic cups (that hold maybe a tablespoon each). You pick up a cup on your way to the alter and are poured a tiny sip.

Oh, I see. Thank you for your reply!

We didn't have bachelor or bachelorette parties before the wedding. My brother was adamant that he have a 'clean' bachelor party so he and his friends went to check out a band my brother likes.
Robyn
What an awesome party. My hubby's bachelor party was a day of deep sea fishing on his best man's boat. He had a great time.

Don't tell Mr. handsome that! LOL. If someone had thrown a deep-sea fishing bachelor party for him, he would've thought he had died and gone to heaven!

I find myself giggling over the double meanings of the word clean as applied to this party. It actually sounds like a thoroughly grimy 24 hours at man camp to me!
I hope everyone had fun.

Yeah! Sounds like a great bonding time :0) When Dave and I married, the 'guys' all went out for breakfast and the girls met me for breakfast. Dave had a choice between 'funny' conversation or 'serious' conversation. He chose 'serious'. Apparently, it was not only good food, but great, deep Godly conversation followed by prayer. 23 years later, he still talks about it :0)

That's really sweet! Congrats on 23 years! 🙂

I don't think the "clean party" is not so clean when GUNS are in the picture!!!!! Guns are VERY EVIL!!!!!!!!!!
Anonymous
Guns are not evil. They only turn evil when someone does something WITH a gun that is against the law. The same goes for money, money is not at all evil either, it only turns evil when you use money in a way that is against the law or use it for things that you should not or when you gamble money on lottery tickets or bingo parlors or casinos, or when you waste money on things you don't really need.
Anonymous
Money isn't an object that physically kills you. A lot of people have been killed by guns by accident. Parents killing childen, children killing parents or themselves…
Anonymous
The gun itself is not evil,it is the person behind the gun that should be looked at.
Anonymous
Guns are object that are made with the purpose to hurt and/or kill people or animals. I don't know what's more evil than that.
Plus, maybe most people who use them is wise, but it's also very easy that they end up in the hands of people who are not so wise.

Is that your husbands twin standing to the left of him?? They look almost identical!

This sounds like a lot of fun!! It was certainly thoughtful too. So glad to hear that everyone enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing that a bachelor party could be fun and clean.

My hubby played laser tag at this really cool place. It's in an abandoned warehouse and it's multiple stories tall with overturned school buses and tons of things to hide in and around, and then they went to one of his groomsmen's homes for a bonfire after. He loved it and says he wouldn't have it any other way!
[email protected]
That sounds like a blast! Laser tag is a great activity.
