Last week, we had the honor of joining hit songwriters Keith and Kristyn Getty for the live recording of their upcoming album, Facing a Task Unfinished.Keith Getty invited me to the event when I met with him for an interview back in February. (Click here to watch my interview.) Mr. Handsome and I had no idea what to expect, but we knew it would be a neat experience, so we went. And boy were we glad we did!
The event took place in a well-known Nashville recording studio housed in a beautiful, 100-year-old church, located on the iconic Music Row.
For three hours, Mr. Handsome and I, along with 50 personal friends of the Gettys, sang along as Keith and Kristyn and their band performed a handful of songs off their new album. It was an incredible evening! While we sang, a film crew took footage that will be used in upcoming promo videos.

Wow! What a neat experience!

I don't think either one of those are his name. It seems everyone else in the family has different (less common but nice) names. Maybe his is too weird for them to want to publish it…just my thoughts.

Now why would you even say something like that on this blog? Seriously what kind of person are you?
Anonymous
I think they meant unusual not weird

What are you talking about?

What an exciting experience! Just wondering, with Mr Handsome's musical talents, does he do any musical events or engagements?

Hi there,
He and his family play a lot of music growing up. Since we live in Nashville, he may become involved with music in the future, but right now we're just enjoying married life.

With so many artistic and musical talents, why did Mr. Handsome decide to become a dentist instead of a more creative field? Would you write a future post about how you both chose your careers?
Anonymous
Wow Ellie, it looks like you are getting some rude and inconsiderate readers. Please people, don't take enjoyment out of spoiling things for others. Would you want to be treated this way?
Anonymous
I agree completely. People really need to think about how they would want to be treated. If Ellie chooses not to share information, no matter how obvious it may seem to some, it is none of our business and therefore shouldn't be mentioned. It takes a lot to put your life out there for the world like Ellie does and we should be applauding and congratulating her, not giving her a hard time.

What happened? I don't see offensive messages right now, were there some that got deleted?

Thank you for your support. 🙂

Ellie, do you moderate comments on this blog? I've had a couple of comments that haven't gotten through in the past, including one with a chicken recipe from a few days ago.
If you don't moderate comments, maybe you should… some of these comments are getting really disrespectful. It's very nice of you to share your experiences and photos here. I don't know why some people have to nitpick and focus on things completely irrelevant to the stories you're sharing.

I agree with you completely. Thank you for everything you share Ellie!

I started off moderating comments but then decided to stop. After seeing a couple not so nice ones over the past few days, I started moderating again, but I'm going to be very quick about publishing them. I don't mind reading negative comments, but I don't want my readers to have to see them.
Thanks for being loyal followers!

How wonderful that you could join the Getty's! I love their music. It's modern yet powerful. I hope I can attend one of their concerts if they come my way again.
