Cheekwood is one of our favorite spots in Nashville. It isn’t far from the center of the city, and it’s such a beautiful place to walk around.
During the fall, Cheekwood has a pumpkin exhibit for children. This year, it was even bigger than last year. Little Buddy and I visited with one of his friends. Even though it was the end of October, it was a scorcher (the last hot day of the year). Being pregnant, I was pretty miserable, but my friend understood how I was feeling because she was further along than I was. We were both determined to make it fun for our boys, and I think we succeeded.
The pumpkin house (pictured at the top of the post) is a kid favorite. This year, Cheekwood had a new feature that was simple but a huge hit among the toddlers: piles of pumpkins to climb on. What fun!
The one downside of Cheekwood is that it’s very hilly, so a great place to visit if you are wanting a gentle workout. Not so great if you’re pregnant and pushing a stroller. But we knew ahead of time and came prepared with plenty of water.

When are you due?
Ellie
I haven’t shared that, but I will definitely let you all know when the baby arrives 🙂
Kay
Poor thing!! Hang in there!! I’m hanging in there too with twins. Sickness has been rough on me even this far along in my pregnancy. Some secrets I will share , small dose of ginger (sprouts grocery have ginger chew, cups of ice, putting your feet up and sitting in the shade.
Ellie
Does your morning sickness still last all day? I still have mine, but thankfully in the second trimester it started only being in the morning. Are they expecting you to deliver a few weeks early, since you’re having twins? Are they going to let you go into labor naturally, or induce at some point?
Kay
Since being pregnant with twins, I have learned that there are different types and each set have their own special situation. I’m expecting mono /di twins. Means identical and they do not have their own placenta. They are sharing it so because of this, I’m labeled high risk. Have to see an special doctor to make sure that they are sharing fluids and etc. I’m now 29 weeks and have had 0 issues. Sadly for me morning sickness has been all day and through my pregnancy. It wasn’t this bad with my last child but this time around it has been horrible! Since they are sharing the placenta , I will be induced and go through csection. I was really upset about that but if I have them naturally and the placenta comes out before baby B it may cause issues like life threatening so I’m taking one for the team . They are due Jan 6. I feel they may come the end of Dec. when I’m 32 weeks , I will be going to the doctor once a week to monitor fluids , the co pay is $300 per an baby and we have great insurance.
Ellie
It sounds like your doctor is doing a great job monitoring you and the babies. How exciting that you will be meeting your twins very soon! I pray that everything goes well.

Love the pumpkins !
Speaking of pumpkins , do you bake anything pumpkin? Like pumpkin bread ?
It sure is harder walking while in the 3rd trimester , but the hardest for me was when I was due in the summer .
Ellie
I love pumpkin, but I never seem to get around to baking as much as I would like. I made pumpkin bread a couple weeks ago. How about you?
Being due in the summer would be rough! LOL
Tiffany
I made pumpkin smoothies a few times and today I am making brown butter pumpkin honey cornbread muffins today . It’s gluten free.

I’ve never heard of a pumpkin smoothie. That sounds intriguing! Thanks for sharing. And the cornbread muffins sound absolutely delicious.
