Some of you know that we traveled to Denver, Colorado, last year for a small wedding. I already posted photos from the Royal Gorge, Red Rocks Amphitheater, and Manitou Cliff Dwellings, but I have just one more excursion to share. Have any of you been to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs?
We parked in the big parking lot and hiked on a stroller friendly trail through the main part of the park. The rocks were beautiful! There were quite a few people there, but everyone did a great job keeping away from each other. There was plenty of open space. It was a sunny day, and the temperature was absolutely perfect.
We saw a few folks climbing with ropes and harnesses up some of the rock faces. I have climbed on an actual rock face, but it was exponentially shorter. I certainly wouldn’t have been able to bring myself to do what these people were doing. Unfortunately, one of them was having a difficult time and looked sort of stuck. It gave me anxiety just to watch them.
We didn’t snap too many pictures during our hike, but I wanted to share the few that we took. This one is of the famous “kissing camels.”
Everywhere we turned, there was another beautiful view. Mr. Handsome wants to paint some of the scenes.

It looks beautiful. I just love looking at God’s creation in photos and in person. Thank you for sharing Ellie.

I’m so glad you got to visit the Garden of the Gods. Our family has visited it and we had a wonderful time. It never ceases to amaze me how God created so many beautiful areas for us to enjoy.

Yes we have! In the snow too! That was the only time we have seen it. It was absolutely gorgeous with the snow and all those red rocks but I would love to see it in the summer too! Glad you got to experience Colorado!

When we lived in Colorado for a few months, we went to Colorado Springs three times, and every time we visited the Focus on the Family headquarters and the Garden of the gods. Absolutely beautiful there!

I went with my parents and sister and brother in law when I was a teenager. It is very beautiful.

I took an awesome picture of the Rams one year. I use it as a background in my devices still today. I love GOTG and would absolutely love to go back one day.
It was my son’s favorite place to hike with his 2 young sons and pregnant wife. Now that he traded the Army for another branch of the Armed forces I don’t know if i will ever find my way back to Co.

It’s the most impressive rock formations ! First time I ever seen mountains! But when we went to the park now that was a big bonus!
I call it God’s Garden!

I lived in Manitou Springs for several years about 1/2 mile from the G of Gs, walked there with dogs and friends many many times. Never tired of the feeling it gave us. Climbed all of the rocks and would take a lunch and sit at the top while taking in the Rampart Range and the Pikes Peak right there in your face, magnificent view is an understatement. I really miss that experience!

Gods country nothing like this anywhere else

I was raised with the GOG as an extended back yard. The garden bordered our north & west fence lines, & spent many, many days & hours riding my horse, hiking, camping & climbing in the park. It was awesome & a great place to be raised.
